Upcoming Events

April 2026

  • April 17 — Spring Research Symposium
    Morrison Library Auditorium | 9am–4pm
    300+ student poster and oral presentations across all disciplines. Open to the public.
  • April 18 — Earth Day Campus Cleanup
    Campus-Wide | 10am–12pm
    Join the Sustainability Office and student volunteers for a campus beautification day. Free t-shirt for participants.
  • April 19 — Spring Arts Festival
    Campus Quad | 11am–6pm
    Live music, student art installations, food trucks, and performances by the Jazz Ensemble and Dance Company. Free admission.
  • April 24 — Honors Convocation
    Mongoose Arena | 2pm
    Annual ceremony recognizing Dean’s List, President’s List, honor society inductions, and student award recipients.
  • April 26 — Career & Internship Fair
    Student Center Ballroom | 10am–3pm
    80+ employers recruiting for internships and full-time positions. Business casual required. Bring copies of your resume.

May 2026

  • May 1 — Greek Week Kickoff
    Campus Quad | 4pm
    Opening ceremony for Greek Week, featuring the Mongoose Olympics, philanthropic events, and community service projects.
  • May 8 — Spring Concert
    Mongoose Stadium | 7pm
    Annual spring concert featuring national headlining artist and student opening acts. Free with MU ID; $25 for guests.
  • May 11–16 — Senior Week
    Various Locations
    Exclusive events for graduating seniors including BBQ on the Quad, Boat Cruise on Lake Erie, Senior Awards Night, and the beloved Midnight Breakfast.
  • May 15 — Last Day of Classes
    All Buildings
    Final day of instruction for Spring 2026. Final exam period begins May 16.
  • May 16 — Commencement
    Mongoose Stadium | 10am
    Spring Commencement ceremony for all undergraduate graduates. Graduate & Doctoral ceremony at 9am in Mongoose Arena. Gates open at 8am.

Recurring Events

  • Mondays — President’s Speaker Series
    Founders Hall Auditorium | 12pm–1pm
    Weekly talks from industry leaders, academics, and public figures. Free and open to all. Lunch provided for students.
  • Tuesdays & Thursdays — Farmer’s Market
    Campus Quad | 11am–2pm
    Local vendors selling fresh produce, baked goods, and handmade items. Accepts Flex Dollars.
  • Wednesdays — Wellness Wednesday
    Recreation Center | 5pm–7pm
    Free group fitness classes, meditation sessions, and wellness workshops hosted by the Counseling Center and Rec Center.
  • Fridays — Free Film Series
    Morrison Library Auditorium | 7pm
    Weekly film screenings curated by the Film Studies department. Discussion follows each screening. Free with MU ID.
  • Saturdays — Home Athletic Events
    Mongoose Stadium / Arena
    Cheer on the Mongooses! Free admission for all students with MU ID. See Athletics for the full schedule.

Traditions

Mongoose Traditions You Won’t Want to Miss

Mongoose Family Weekend (September 26–28, 2026) — Bring your family to campus for class visits, tailgating, the football game, dining hall dinner, and a performing arts showcase. Registration opens August 1.

Homecoming (October 17–19, 2026) — The biggest weekend of fall semester. Alumni return for the Homecoming parade, football game, tailgate, and the crowning of the Homecoming Court.

Midnight Breakfast (December & May) — The night before finals begin, faculty and staff serve breakfast to students at midnight in the Dining Hall. A beloved MU tradition since 1989.

Mongoose Madness (November) — Tip-off pep rally and the first home basketball game of the season. Students line up hours early for the best seats. Free food, giveaways, and appearances by Monty the Mongoose.

Relay for Life (April) — Mongoose University’s 12-hour overnight fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Teams walk the track in Morrison Field from 6pm–6am. One of the most anticipated events of the year.

Academic & Professional

Research symposia, guest lectures, career fairs, workshop series, academic conferences, honors ceremonies, and department-hosted events. Check your college’s bulletin board for department-specific programming.

Arts & Culture

Theatre productions, dance performances, orchestral and jazz concerts, gallery openings, film screenings, and poetry readings. The Fine Arts Center hosts 40+ public performances each year.

Athletics & Recreation

18 varsity sports, intramural leagues, club sport tournaments, and recreation center events. All home games are free for students with MU ID. Mongoose Maniacs priority seating for season pass holders.

Health & Wellness

Wellness Wednesday series, mental health awareness events, nutrition workshops, stress management workshops during finals, and the annual Mongoose 5K Fun Run (October). Hosted by the Counseling Center and Health Services.

Cultural & Identity

Heritage month celebrations (Black History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month, Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, LGBTQ+ Pride), cultural food festivals, speaker panels, and interfaith observances hosted by student cultural organizations.

Student Organizations →

Community & Service

Relay for Life, Alternative Spring Break, community cleanup days, food drives, blood drives, and Mongoose Gives Back Day (first Saturday of November). Volunteer hours tracked through the Community Engagement Office.

Submit & Promote
Your Event

Host an Event on Campus

Student organizations, academic departments, and university offices can all reserve campus spaces and list events on the official campus calendar.

Space Reservations: Submit requests through the Campus Scheduling Office at least 2 weeks in advance. Available venues include classrooms, the Student Center Ballroom, the Campus Quad, Morrison Library Auditorium, and athletic facilities.

Calendar Listing: Email events@mongooseuniversity.edu with your event details at least 1 week before the event. Include: event name, date/time, location, description, and contact info.

Promotion: Request a feature in the weekly MU Events Newsletter (sent to all students every Monday). Student Government also provides tabling spots in the Student Center for registered student organizations.
