Residence Halls

Founders Hall (First-Year Residence)

Traditional double rooms with communal bathrooms, study lounges on each floor, and laundry facilities. Capacity: 420 residents. Features include air conditioning, mini-fridge/microwave units, high-speed WiFi, and common kitchenettes. Costs: $5,850/semester (double), $7,200/semester (single). All first-year students required to live on campus.

Lakeside Commons (Sophomore Housing)

Suite-style living with 4-person suites, shared bathroom between 2 rooms, and in-suite kitchenette with furnished living area. Capacity: 280 residents. Features lake views, outdoor recreation area, community garden, and study rooms. Cost: $6,475/semester with an emphasis on building community and independence.

University Village (Upper-Class & Graduate)

Apartment-style units with studios ($8,100/semester), 1-bedroom ($7,400/semester), and 2-bedroom shared ($5,950/semester per person). All units feature full kitchens, in-unit washer/dryer, and private bathrooms. Capacity: 350 residents. 12-month leases available. Pet-friendly building (cats and small dogs, $250/semester pet fee). Dining at Mongoose University

The Mongoose Dining Hall is our main all-you-care-to-eat facility open 7am-9pm weekdays and 8am-8pm weekends. The Greenery offers grab-and-go options with salads, sandwiches, and smoothies from 7am-10pm. Fireside Bistro provides restaurant-style evening dining with reservations available Wednesday-Saturday, 5-9pm. The Study Grind coffee shop in the library serves pastries, coffee, and tea from 6:30am-midnight.

Meal Plan Options: Unlimited ($3,250/semester), Mongoose 14 ($2,875/semester with 14 meals/week + $200 flex dollars), Mongoose 10 ($2,450/semester with 10 meals/week + $350 flex dollars), and Commuter 50 ($725/semester with 50 meals + $150 flex dollars). All residential students must select a meal plan. Flex dollars are accepted at all campus dining locations plus 12 local partner restaurants. Dietary Accommodations: We offer allergen-free stations, halal options, kosher meals available by request, and a full vegan/vegetarian menu daily to ensure every student can enjoy nutritious, delicious meals.

Student Life

Student Organizations

Mongoose University has 150+ registered student organizations. Highlights include Student Government Association, campus newspaper (The Mongoose Herald), radio station (WMGU 91.7 FM), 15 Greek life chapters (8 sororities, 7 fraternities), and cultural organizations including Black Student Union, Latin American Student Association, Asian Student Alliance, and International Student Organization. Academic honor societies include Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi. Professional clubs range from Pre-Law Society to Future Educators to Entrepreneurship Club to Women in STEM. Recreation & Athletics

The Mongoose Recreation Center spans 85,000 sq ft and features an Olympic-size pool, 3-court gymnasium, indoor track, rock climbing wall, and fitness center with 120+ cardio and weight stations. We offer 40+ weekly group fitness classes including yoga, spin, HIIT, Zumba, and pilates. Intramural sports include flag football, basketball, soccer, volleyball, softball, dodgeball, and esports. Club sports range from rugby and lacrosse to crew, fencing, equestrian, sailing, and ultimate frisbee. Our NCAA Division II athletics program includes 18 varsity sports. Campus Events & Traditions

Mongoose Welcome Week in August features 50+ orientation events. Homecoming in October includes a parade, tailgating, and alumni weekend. Spring Fling in April offers outdoor concerts, carnival games, and food festivals. Weekly events include Open Mic Fridays, Cultural Showcase Thursdays, and Movie Mondays in the student center. Our performing arts program features 4 mainstage theater productions annually, 3 concert band performances, and an annual dance showcase. Monthly lecture series bring guest speakers on leadership, diversity, and career development. The Student Activities Board programs 200+ events annually with an $850,000 budget. Health, Safety & Wellness

Our Campus Health Center provides comprehensive primary care, mental health counseling (first 10 sessions free for all students), on-site pharmacy, and health education services. Open Monday-Friday 8am-6pm and Saturday 9am-1pm, with an after-hours nurse hotline available 24/7. Mental health support is a priority with counselors available for both crisis intervention and ongoing therapeutic support.

Campus Safety operates around the clock with emergency blue light phones positioned throughout campus, SafeWalk escort service operating 8pm-2am, and a campus shuttle system running every 15 minutes until midnight. Our security team conducts regular campus patrols and safety training programs for students.

Wellness Programs include stress management workshops, nutrition counseling, meditation and mindfulness sessions, and peer health education led by trained student ambassadors. All students have access to the Mongoose Wellness App for telehealth appointments, wellness tracking, and comprehensive wellness resources including fitness recommendations and nutrition guidance.
