With 150+ student organizations — from Greek life and cultural groups to academic honor societies and performing arts — there’s a place for every Mongoose to belong and lead.
Greek Life at Mongoose University
Mongoose University is home to 15 chapters: 8 sororities (Alpha Chi Omega, Delta Gamma, Kappa Alpha Theta, Kappa Delta, Pi Beta Phi, Sigma Kappa, Zeta Tau Alpha, Chi Omega) and 7 fraternities (Beta Theta Pi, Delta Tau Delta, Kappa Sigma, Lambda Chi Alpha, Phi Delta Theta, Sigma Chi, Sigma Nu). Greek life at MU emphasizes academics (all-Greek GPA: 3.45 vs 3.21 campus average), community service (38,000+ hours annually), and philanthropy ($275,000 raised last year). Formal recruitment takes place in September (sororities) and January (fraternities). Greek housing is available in the Greek Village, a cluster of 8 houses adjacent to the main quad. Membership dues range from $1,800-$3,200/year depending on chapter. Approximately 22% of undergraduates are affiliated with Greek organizations. The Greek Council oversees all chapters and hosts Greek Week each spring.
